MBA Workshop - Future Thinking for Career Success | University of Edinburgh Business School
“Emily developed a tailored workshop for our MBA students, aligned to their credit-bearing Professional Development (PD) course. This session provided valuable insights into episodic future thinking, helping students refine their approach to setting and achieving their PD objectives.
By integrating cutting-edge psychological research with practical application, Emily equipped students with tools to create more meaningful and actionable goals. The session not only enhanced their motivation and visioning skills but also ensured they were better prepared to maximise the impact of their first coaching session (coaching provision being an integral part of our PD provision.) Emily’s delivery was both creative and innovative, making the workshop an inspiring and impactful experience for all involved.”

Coaching Connect CPD Series | University of Edinburgh Business School
“As part of the Business School’s commitment to excellence in coaching provision, we introduced Coaching Connect, a new Continuous Professional Development (CPD) series designed to support the delivery of best practices in coaching, aligned with Association for Coaching standards.
Emily was our first speaker and played a pivotal role in launching the series. She designed and delivered the inaugural session, “Future Thinking for Goal Attainment," which explored how episodic future thinking can enhance goal-setting by making future events feel more immediate and relevant to present-day actions. Drawing on recent research, the session explored how these insights can be applied effectively in our coaching practices to help increase motivation, commitment, and long-term goal achievement.
Emily’s session was engaging, thought-provoking, and highly impactful, sparking insightful discussions, meaningful reflections, and practical takeaways. She also provided follow-up resources to encourage further development beyond the session. This first event was a real success, setting a high standard for future speakers and reinforcing our commitment to ongoing professional development in coaching. We are incredibly grateful for Emily’s expertise and contributions.”
